Tomorrow I will be returning my rental Mustang and I am going to miss it.
As much as I, as an Opponaut, should hate this vile mockery of American muscle I have found myself enamored. It is literally the opposite of my ideal Mustang, fuck convertibles, fuck your cloth seats, fuck that pussy V6, and fuck that fucking 6-speed auto harder than everything else in the world combined.
After spending a month with the Brostang I found myself smiling every time I got into that sorry excuse for an interior. The transmission is lazy and hard to predict, the steering is like a mini-van but worse. But one thing I loved was the simple fact that it was. A Mustang is a Mustang is a Mustang unless it's a GT500 in which case it's a Mustang. People notice a Mustang, it's got presence, even if you fucking hate it you notice it. I think that's what I'll miss the most, being able to say, "I drive a Mustang." The FiST will always just be a Fiesta.

I will never understand convertible haters.

I might not hate them after this rental, I still don't like them but I don't hate them anymore.

Me neither. I love mine to death.

Yeah I wish my Cobra was a 'vert. Let me have glorious sun!

The thing about the Fiesta is probably one of the reasons why I'll never own one.

I am pale and live in Florida. Blister=/=fun. Fuck convertibles. Plus there are no good places to really enjoy it. AND SWEAR I WILL FIND YOU IF YOU SAY THE BEACH

When I was a youngin and had long hair that refused to stay in a ponytail and my dad had a convertible Fox body, that forever sealed my hate of convertibles. Too hot sitting in traffic, too cold and windy on the highway, hair in a giant uncombable clump, nothing good came out of that stupid convertible.

What the hell happened to your car so you don't have it for a month?

I am in New Mexico so the beach is a mythical thing that is 1500 miles away. Around here we can enjoy convertibles almost all year long.

Theoretically with the weather, we could to, but the roads suck. There are no winding back roads, there aren't any great views. It's just dull.

I'm sorry we got tons of great views and winding mountain roads.

I did when I lived in Alabama. It's one thing if you were raised here, it's way different if you weren't.

He came to this glorious land called America for a month. He lives in Germany so his car is back in the Vaterland.

what thing?

THAT exact same thing happened to me after I rented a new-ish Camaro. I've since then test driven a few, and I found myself loving them and mustangs. Carry on FiSTer, enjoy the Fiesta until your Mustang arrives :P

I don't get all the hate thrown at the V6. It is rated to make MOAR POWER than the 302 from the 1969 Boss. Fuck the slushbox though. And Buttfuck the 'vert.

It's got moar powerz but a whole hell of a lot more weight as well. Through the auto you can't get the power when you need to, with a manual I'm sure it'd feel more than adequate.

My V6 had less issues than my GT. Mind you that might've had something to do with the mods.
